Tyre Safety
Do not use tyres with less than 1.6 mm on tyre tread. Apart from being illegal, tyres with low levels of tread will slide easily and suffer from extended braking distances. In wet conditions the car will aquaplane.
Make sure your air pressures are all correct. Low pressure generates heat which can result in the rubber separating, which in turn leads to the cord becoming cut and puncturing the tyre.
Treat abnormal tyre wear immediately. To assume normal ware you should check air pressures and alignment and rotate tyres regularly. Never fit used tyres unless you are sure of there past history.
For a free a tyre inspection or to discuss any issues concerning your tyres please e-mail the branch or alternately give us a ring to book an appointment.
- Bad vibration at low speeds indicates out of shape tyre
- Cracks in the tread or in the sidewall rubber
- Visible signs of low tread ( look for the indicator bar on tyre 1.6 mm )
- Visible signs of items in tyre ( nail etc )
